Hello World !!

As you all know I haven't been posting for a long while due to not having internet connection (haha who can live without internet nowadays?! obviously me!! lol) and also being that I was pregnant just made things a whole lot more difficult to do especially with an energetic 3 year old on hand.

So anyway I finally had my baby !! I was glad to finally have it over..I swear if it went on any longer I would've gone insane !! My baby was born 10 days early from the due date because the doctors who took care of me decided it would be better for my sake and the babys if they induced me. They did however make me suffer before finally inducing me. I was in and out of hospital and also had to stay for few days due to my high blood pressure and they didn't want to "risk" anything with me as I had sever pre-eclampsia with my first born. Driving back and forth to hospital was starting to get at me not only was the parking TERRIBLE, the drive was excruciating as it took 40 mins just to get there. Imagine having to go through all that effort 3 times a week with a 3 year old !!! I was exhausted !!

At last it happened, on July 20, 2010 my baby girl Mikeila Jade was born weighing 2.725 kg. I was so lucky to have such an easy labour the second time around !!

Guess Who's Back?!

Okay I admit I have neglected my blog for a few months, but could you forgive me?? I have been extremely busy these past few months.. especially now I'm expecting baby #2 !!! I must admit this came as an unexpected suprise but hey? Who am I to question gods doing right? Anyway this pregnancy has left me feeling very exhausted ! I am always feeling like I'm being dragged by my weight and seriously I could barely get myself up some days. I hope I start feeling better once I hit my second trimester and all this sluggish feeling will leave me to enjoy my pregnancy !! Hopefully I would be able to put life back on my blog and start updating again real soon !!

The Aspirin Mask Phenomena

maybe you've heard it maybe you haven't but right now the beauty world is abuzz with this cost efficient and miraculous mask. any keen beauty freak like myself i was curious.. aspirin?? but after reading countless of threads (click here to read) on aspirin masks i decided to take the plunge. as you all know from my previous posts i have extremely sensitive skin. anything i do has to be "patch tested" first or else my face would have a sad and swell (like a blowfish!). i used my own recipe in making the aspirin mask you can tweak it or change anything you don't like

What You Need:

• panadol paracetamol tablets. remember to make sure to buy TABLETS not CAPSULES or else you would have a hard time peeling the casing off ! crush the panadol tablets and add into the honey, i used 12 tablets.
  
• honey. use as much or as little as you want. as i said tweak it !! i used 2 spoon full because i hate the smell of honey
  
• jojoba oil. this is optional ! i added 3 drops just for a little moisturizing for my skin !

mix all the ingredients together and voila !! some people use this recipe as a scrub but i find it really good as a mask.. sometimes i don't even add honey in especially when i am spot treating pimples ! i must say i am now an aspirin mask devotee ! it made my pores smaller and my skin smoother ! its inexpensive and easy to make, what more do you want??

.......LIPSTICKS !!!

while i was stuck at home with the flu last week i decided i needed new lipsticks !! (not that i have anymore room in my bathroom!) so i drove my car out looking like the living dead and bought a few... in my opinion MUST HAVE lipsticks for this coming winter !!

there are two things i always look for in a lipstick
1. the lipstick HAS to have medium to high pigmentation.. to hide my darker upper lip.. i know eww right?!
2. the lipstick color has to be NUDE or close to my natural lipcolor.

Napoleon Perdis Set Lipstick in ATHENS. RRP $36.00
Maybelline Mineral Lipstick in NUDE SHELL. RRP $17.00

The NP lipstick is my FIRST Napoleon purchase ever and it didn't disappoint ! I've heard alot of raves about Hollywood stars using NP makeup but i dismissed it until i saw this lovely shade of lipstick and i just HAD to get it !! The texture is absolutely smooth and glides on easily and it is pretty moisturising yet doesn't look like my lips have been glossed over. Lovely semi matte finish !! Totally worth the $36.00 !!

NP "Athens" & Maybelline "Nude Shell"

The Maybelline Mineral Lipstick is great for everyday application !! The lipstick itself is mineral based so you won't be slathering on a bunch of chemicals on your lips and the texture is so velvety smooth almost like gloss and is very moisturising. The down side of it is the color is quite sheer and for the price i guess you get what you pay for but i still love it !!

Moisture Extreme SPF 15 RRP: $14.95

i also bought two lipsticks from Maybelline which are also extremely lovely !! I'm really digging their Moisture Extreme line !! with SPF 15 and super smooth application and a lovely hint of watermelon scent i just couldn't resist !! i bought Peach Mocha and Nude Blush !! i just love their colors !!

after days of lurking around on the EDM forums. i was curious about all the hype that the NR powders were making !! (read here!) i wanted to get my hands on these so called "miracle" powder!! so i made another order.. hopefully it will come just after my superkit order so i wouldn't look like a mad woman scouting down the australia post van for my much anticipated package !! i wish my superkit would come this week ! im living on samples right now :( lol anyway ladies heres my order !! by the way i got the personal kit !!

• natural reflections in golden tan - i got two of these so called "miracle" powders.

ive been searching and searching for a nice way to take my mineral makeup along with me !! i finally found the answer to my prayers.. and i found it on heirloombodycare.com.au they have so many makeup jars/containers to choose from and such affordable prices !! i love it !! and shipping is also incredibly cheap !! yay im helping the australian economy !! heres what i bought from heirloom!!

• makeup spatulas (pack of ten) - these come in handy packs of ten.. i need them for mixing my foundation with NR golden tan for a nice "barely there" makeup.. it is $1.60 per pack of 10
• plastic scoop (small, pack of ten) - these always come in handy.. great for putting some makeup into travel jars !! no mess and super cheap !! .. $0.45 per pack of 10
• mineral powder pot with sifter & powder puff (20ml base) - this is my MUST HAVE !! great for taking to work for touch ups !!.. they are $1.30 each
• 10 gm makeup stackable pots (sets of 2) - will come superhandy for those who use alot of mineral powders ie. eyeshadows, concealers etc. .. they are $1.00 for the 10gm & $0.85 for the 5 gm.. i bought both !! :D
• plastic bottle dripper and cap - i NEED this to carry my NR golden tan & moisturizer combo !! they are $1.00

all in all i saved alot of money buy not buying from overseas websites.. they are simply overpriced and shipping costs an arm and a leg !! and also i am stimulating the australian economy !! wooooooooooo !!

i am finally 20..
well actually i still feel like im 16.. but i guess now i fully appreciate the term "young at heart". my birthday was last Sunday 8th of March but i tell you on Saturday night i celebrated the early hours of my birthday "clubbing it up". We had dinner at Sunlight Restaurant (my shout of course!) and then headed out for karaoke at Utopia and finished the night of at Metro City. here's the pics !!

Big Order.. from everyday minerals

i just ordered a massive lot from everyday minerals.. you know guys i was still contemplating whether to buy from everyday minerals or signature minerals since i like them both alot. well what attracted me the most about signature minerals was that they have free postage.. for orders $100US and above.. that was fine with me but i didnt want to order 100 dollars worth of stuff because $100US is like $154.48AU in australian dollars.. i mean come on i might as well but Bare Escentuals at that rate.. then i dont have to wait weeks for my stuff to arrive. i am desperately trying to save money so i wasn't really keen on spending 154 dollars on make up. then i came across the custom kits from everyday minerals for $50.00 their UPS postage is flexible.. you can choose which you want depending on budget. so i went for the cheapest one of course !! so all in all i have spent $69.30US which set me back $108.00AU not bad. i decided i would buy all my makeup i would need for the rest of the year. as you all know mineral makeup lasts a LONG time. i am still not even halfway my make up samples !! with everyday minerals you can choose ANY 12 full sized products to add to your kit. you can choose to have 12 foundations/primers/concealers/pressed powders anything really!! that to me was a BARGAIN. absolute bargain. you can even include all their brushes in your kit if you want !! i ended up with these items in my kit !!

• long handled kabuki - this was not for me.. my bf likes mineral powder as much as i do and he needed a nice brush !!
  
• medium tan (original glo foundation) - this is my color !! i actually i purchased two of these !! one in original glo and one in semi-matte
• sandy medium (semi-matte foundation) - a shade or two lighter than my skintone for winter use !! winter is just around the corner !!
• peach color corrector/concealer - i absolutely love this concealer.. hides my bags and the redness around my nose area !! makes me look "photoshopped" lol
• dark brown brow color - well as you all know i like my brows looking well groomed and i dont want to run out of this !!
• finishing dust - just the perfect thing to set the make up !!
• daydream blush - my favourite blush !! very subtle and natural looking !! love it heaps !!
• spring berries lip color - just wanted to try something new.. il let you know what i think of it when i get it though !!
• fairly light golden (pressed foundation) - just trying this product.. something to take along when on the move. it is also a mineral foundation !!
• fair pink (pressed foundation) - for my dear bf.. who also loves mineral foundation.. i got this for him !! hopefully he will like it ! lol
• summer stroll blush (pressed) - i just wanted a blush i could take along with me everywhere !! color is lovely i will let you know what i think of it !!

so thats all i got in my kit !! hopefully they will be here soon as i am excited to play around with them !!

kaminomoto hair tonic - REVIEW !!

hey guys i have currently come across this hair growth tonic from japan (thanks to my mom!) that apparently makes your hair grow faster and thicker and healthier !! my moms hairdresser recommended her to use it since she has thin hair. i am using it also in hopes that my hair would grow as healthy and thick as it used to be before the chemicals ! heres the info on this "magic" hair tonic !! as my moms hair dresser said it made her hair really long , thick and super shiny !! i mean wow if it did that to her chemically dead hair then i want some too !! my hair has been super damaged since i chemically straightened it in the philippines and they just ended up killing the living shit out of it !! when i mean killing i mean my hair was falling out.. alot.. the base of my head was bald..(well not really).. pretty much bald.. lucky i had long hair from the top of my head to cover it up ! my hair felt like pubes for months !! no kidding !! i tried everything to repair my hair.. salon treatments, deep conditioning, expensive shampoos.. but none work !! luckily i tried garnier fructis. which helped my hair feel like hair again.. but it did not make it strong again.. i have to grow my hair out now so thats why im using kaminomoto !! i will post pics of my progress !! watch this space !!

i just had to blog about this !! my everyday minerals have finally come !! though it took like 3 weeks? i dont know but hey its here !! i love the mini pots ! so nice and cute and its filled right to the top ! these samples are gonna last me ages !! no doubt !!

everyday minerals vs. signature minerals

i know i know.. i am forever searching for that "perfect" mineral foundation. ever since i found out that the revlon colorstay mineral foundation was not "real" mineral make up because it had talc in it i had to switch !! no wonder it made my skin look kinda gross ! i have made a tonne of mineral foundation purchases to no avail.. i always find the wrong color !! i have used maybelline new york mineral foundation.. would've been great since it is so affordable and so readily available but i find that none of their colors seem to match my yellowy brownish asian coloration ! i also tried mary kay mineral foundation in beige 2.. but only made matters worse.. it made my face look dirty because it was way too dark.. i payed $37.00 for this on ebay ='{ but dont get me wrong the powder was so nice and smooth but it was just the wrong color for me ! oh and i love the mary kay flat top mineral foundation brush !! that i would use !! i have been scouting countless internet forums in search of the perfect foundations ! and finally i came to two conclusions Everyday Minerals and Signature Minerals whats great about them is they both offer FREE thats right ! ive fallen in love.. with muffin break quiche's !!

i think the title says it all.. ive fallen head over heels with muffin breaks chicken and mushroom quiche.. it is the best quiche i have ever had (well it is the 2nd one ive ever had)!! i mean i dont usually buy quiche's because i just dont find them appetizing.. but the quiche at muffin break is so nice......its just the right taste and its low in fat !! i mean it is the best thing since salad !! lols.. so now im addicted to them.. mmmm would like to have some now........

natural looking mineral make up.. the jackii way

i know alot of my friends are too scared to use mineral make up.. i guess mineral make up is for people who want to "enhance" their looks instead of "changing" your looks. i dont normally put make up on and when i do no one knows the difference ! i really really love my mineral make up..
im going to teach you guys how i do my make up.. heheheh

1. wash your face !! the only way make up is going to look natural and even is if you wash your face.. i know some girls look like they just put make up on when they just woke up.. THATS A BIG NONO !! i dont usually use any commercial cleansers because i have really really sensitive skin.. even nivea sensitive doesn't work for me so i use johnsons and johnsons baby soap.

2. Moisturise. i know guys i missed a step.. i dont tone my face because it hurts my skin to the point where i cant smile. so if you guys normally tone in your routine then go ahead . choose a moisturiser that works with your skin. if you have very sensitive skin like me you can use either BioSkincare or Palmers Skin Brightener ! i do prefer BioSkincare but i also love Palmers Skin Brightener. i bought BioSkincare from biocutis.com.. i think it was or you can google it. it even gets rid of acne scars !! awesome right? .. i dont have acne scars though because i never had acne.. i mean thank god for that !! but it did even out my skin tone on my face so i highly recommend it !! if you want glowing & dewy looking skin i would recommend palmers because it really does make your face glow..in a good way that is ! and it has sunscreen which is a plus !! i prefer wearing it during nights out so my face is more noticeable !! hehehe

they're both good !!

3. after the moisturiser has dried/absorbed by the skin apply concealer to areas you want to conceal. make sure you apply concealer lightly.. you wouldnt want it so thick that it becomes the focal point in your face.

4. the good bit !! apply your mineral foundation. i use revlon mineral foundation in 06 medium. i've used other brands but most of them are too pricey to keep buying and the cheap ones are just bad. i recommend bare escentuals to those who can afford it ;) hehehhe i really really like their range of mineral make up i use their mineral lipstick, eyebrow kit, and mascara. so anyway.. all you need is a small amount of foundation to cover the face.

swirl a small amount of mineral foundation for a few seconds to "heat" it up making application easier and even.

tap your kabuki brush to so you don't have too much excess powder for even coverage.
now you can apply to your face !! do the tzone first and apply through out the face from the inside out !! apply in a circular motion !!

and you're done !! you can apply all the other stuff like mascara, blush , lipstic etc to complete your look !!

Jon Avila !! i dreamt that we were grocery shopping together somewhere.. then he asked me to make him wantons !! LOL i know weird right?! ahh my overactive imagination !! lols i think my infatuation with Jon Avila is now starting to haunt me in my sleep !!
